“Ride The Rainbow”: The new tribute to Ritchie Blackmore presents “Man On The Silver Mountain” | Metal Territory

Cleopatra Records is counting down to the release of “Ride The Rainbow – The Ultimate Tribute To Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow”, arriving on June 19, and has released the last single before the official launch. It’s a new rendition of the classic “Man On The Silver Mountain”, one of Rainbow’s most recognisable songs from their 1975 debut.

Sebastian Bach on the mic – All‑star lineup in the credits

The performance is handled by Sebastian Bach (ex‑Skid Row), who delivers a dynamic and commanding version of the track. Joining him are:

  • Bob Daisley – bass (Rainbow)
  • Mick Box – guitar (Uriah Heep)
  • Jonathan Cain – keyboards (Journey)
  • Doug Aldrich – guitar (Whitesnake)
  • Carmine Appice – drums (Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Beck Bogert & Appice)

A lineup that honours Rainbow’s history in the best possible way.

Carmine Appice: “I was very close to joining Rainbow”

Appice revealed that he had received an offer from Ritchie Blackmore in Rainbow’s early years:

“Ritchie had asked me to join the band, but I couldn’t back then. That’s why I was so happy to play on this track. All the musicians here are friends and excellent players. The track kills.”

Jonathan Cain: “The Dio era of Rainbow was unique”

Cain spoke about the band’s importance and his relationship with Ronnie James Dio:

“Rainbow with Dio were among the most melodic and unforgettable metal bands. I had the luck to meet him in the last years of his touring. His voice and melodies will stay forever.”

A tribute full of historic names

The album gathers six former members of Rainbow, along with artists connected to Blackmore in other phases of his career:

  • Bob Daisley
  • Graham Bonnet
  • Don Airey
  • Joe Lynn Turner
  • Doogie White
  • Ronnie Romero
  • Candice Night (Blackmore’s Night)
  • Steve Morse (Deep Purple)

A truly luxurious tribute, as its title promises.
