The black metal band Old Man’s Child is currently working on new material and Galder decided to share a trailer for everyone to enjoy. This is what he wrote on social media.
Every OMC album is different from the other and the next one will be no exception. The next album will have a bit of everything, from the fastest I’ve ever done to more melodic and atmospheric tracks. Here’s a little taste of a demo I just finished, it’s kind of slow, weird, but I need that too. I was very busy last year, but now I’m working hard to finish everything, I only need one or two more songs and a few final tweaks. And then start working on the lyrics. Maybe I’ll post a few more teasers later. 🙂

Although Old Man’s Child were officially founded in 1993, their roots can be traced back to 1989, when Galder, Jardar and Tjodalv formed Requiem, a death/thrash band. They released a demo album in 1990, after first performing covers of songs by Metallica and Slayer. In 1992, Requiem disbanded. They joined Century Media in 1996 after the release of “Born of the Flickering,” their first full-length album. The band did one of its rare tours after the release of “The Pagan Prosperity” and “Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion” by Century Media. Due to multiple lineup changes over the years, Old Man’s Child have rarely toured.
Galder continued to work with Old Man’s Child even after joining Dimmu Borgir in 2000. Over time, the band has become a solo project, using session recordings. Galder released three albums between 2000 and 2005: “Vermin” (2005), “In Defiance of Existence” (2003) and “Revelation 666 – The Curse of Damnation” (2000). Old Man’s Child announced in July 2008 that they were going to record “Slaves of the World,” their seventh album. In 2009 it was released.
