The Nightfall return to the Greek scene for two live shows in November: on November 20, 2026 in Ioannina (Stage Ioannina) and on November 21, 2026 in Patras (Frida Bar n’ Stage). It’s a good occasion to stop and look at the most recent chapter of their discography. “Children of Eve” was released on May 2, 2025 by Season of Mist and is the band’s eleventh studio album.
“`Country: Greece
Genre: Blackened Death Metal
For fans of: Rotting Christ, Septicflesh
Nightfall formed in Athens in 1991 and were among the first Greek bands to sign international record deals, alongside Rotting Christ and Septicflesh. The lineup changed several times over their more than thirty-year career, with Efthimis Karadimas remaining steadily the main songwriter and singer.
On “Children of Eve” the band moves in the sound that defines them: blackened death metal with gothic melodies and a heavy, clean production. The album includes ten tracks and opens with “I Hate”, continuing with “The Cannibal”, “Lurking”, “Inside My Head”, “Seeking Revenge”, “For the Expelled Ones”, “The Traders of Anathema”, “With Outlandish Desire to Disobey”, “The Makhaira of the Deceiver” and “Christian Svengali”.
The production is credited to Karadimas and drummer Fotis Benardo, with the help of InnerWish guitarist Thymios Krikos, while mixing and mastering were handled by Jacob Hansen. The cover art was created by Eliran Kantor, who has done covers for Testament and Kreator. The lineup features Efthimis Karadimas on vocals, Kostas Kyriakopoulos on guitar, Fotis Benardo on drums — with a stint in both Septicflesh and Nightrage — and Vasiliki Biza on bass.
The lyrics revolve around pain and man’s relationship with religion. In recent years Nightfall have also stood by fans struggling with mental health issues, through the initiative “Metal Music Against Depression”. At the November live shows, tracks from “Children of Eve” will sit alongside their older songs.
