PRESS RELEASE : The veterans Morbid Death from the Azores deliver with “Veil of Ashes” the fifth full-length album of their long career. Founded in September 1990, they are one of the cornerstones of Portugal’s island heavy metal scene, proving that their passion remains undimmed three and a half decades later. Recorded, mixed and mastered at StepKeys Studio in Ponta Delgada, the record marks, according to the band itself, a dynamic return to their primordial roots.
Sonically, the approach is direct, violent and utterly aggressive. The speed of traditional thrash meets the pure weight of death metal, offering a blend of sharp guitar riffs and devastating rhythms. The massive, sturdy breakdowns are framed by vocals that masterfully alternate between deep growls and piercing screams. Tracks like the lead single “World of Lies” reflect the spirit of resistance of a band that refuses to surrender, delivering a work that is dark, full of energy and made for relentless headbanging.
