The band was formed in Athens in 2011 and took its first important step with the debut album World of Lies in 2018. From the start InPhaze moved between hard rock and heavy metal, creating a sound with power, melody and plenty of intensity.
The years that followed, however, were anything but easy.
2026 finds InPhaze here again, with Back Again, an album that wasn’t written simply to continue a musical course. It’s the result of a difficult journey and an effort to turn everything that happened into music.
Back Again has a real story behind it
The title Back Again fits this return perfectly.
InPhaze aren’t simply returning after a period of absence. They’re returning having gone through very difficult personal situations.
A battle with cancer and demanding treatments, a divorce and a tragic family loss were part of a period that tested people and relationships.
But instead of all this staying only as difficult memories, InPhaze turned it into music.
And that’s what makes Back Again stand out.
This isn’t an album that talks about imaginary heroes, distant worlds and stories that have nothing to do with everyday life. The lyrics look more toward real life and everything a person may have to face when things go wrong.
Power Metal with a more personal face
Musically, InPhaze build on the foundations of Power Metal, but they don’t stay only there.
The fast passages, strong melodies and hooks combine with a more modern production sound, giving the songs plenty of energy without losing their melodic side.
The band keeps the speed and power you expect from a Power Metal album, but adds something that can’t easily be manufactured in the studio.
Personal experience.
And that is heard more in the overall direction of the album than through big words.
Bob Katsionis behind the production
Co-producing Back Again is Bob Katsionis, a musician and producer who has left his own mark on the Greek metal scene for years and is also known for his run with Firewind.
On vocals is André Boutos, while mixing and mastering were handled by Ilias Gkogkakis, founder of Vowlume Productions and guitarist of InPhaze.
The result is a sound that tries to combine the power of classic Power Metal with a cleaner and more modern production.
Each song a different chapter
Back Again can be seen as a musical journey through a period that had many difficult moments.
There’s no need to present the album as a story of sorrow.
Because the essence lies elsewhere.
In endurance.
In being able to go through a difficult situation, rise and keep going. To take something that shattered you and try to turn it into something creative.
That seems to be exactly the spirit behind Back Again.
A return with a message
InPhaze return in 2026 not as a band that simply wants to prove it can play fast and loud Power Metal.
They return with something more personal.
Back Again speaks about human endurance, about the moments when everything seems to go wrong and about the effort to find your way again.
And maybe that’s the greatest strength of an album like this.
You don’t need to have lived through exactly the same situations to understand the feeling.
We’ve all at some point found ourselves in a situation that forced us to change, to rethink our lives and start over.
InPhaze took that reality and put it into their Power Metal.
Pre-order via Indiegogo
The campaign for Back Again on Indiegogo starts on August 10, 2026 and will last until September 6, 2026.
Through the pre-order, supporters can also get exclusive products tied to the release.
For a Greek band returning with such personal material, people’s support matters even more.
Because at the end of the day, metal was never only the albums.
It’s the people behind them, their stories and the relationship created with those who listen to the music.
InPhaze are returning.
And Back Again is their own proof that, however difficult the road, there’s always the possibility to rise again.
Stronger.
More mature.
And above all, more real.
