After numerous world tours, ten full-length albums and globally recognized acclaim, the unstoppable groove metal legends, DevilDriver, remain at full speed ahead in the second decade of their prime. Today, the band announces its explosive eleventh full-length album, “Strike and Kill”, to be released on July 10, 2026 via Napalm Records. With the all-star lineup of frontman and mastermind Dez Fafara, the virtuoso guitar duo Alex Lee and Gabe Mangold, explosive drummer Davier Ortega Perez and the return of founding bass legend Jon Miller, “Strike and Kill” sees DevilDriver return to their carnivorous origins, reigniting the incendiary sound that founded their legacy, a song that all fans of the genre must absolutely hear.
Dez Fafara on “Strike and Kill” :
“My mind hasn’t changed, I haven’t become complacent or soft in my view of the world or in my music. Metal is our outlet as listeners and composers, so on this album we focused on “getting it all out” lyrically and supporting those lyrics with fierce, relentless music that fuels the heavy California groove like no other. DevilDriver never sounded like any other band, we do our own thing our own way and I’m very proud of that.”
« I’m so proud of these musicians, this music and the atmosphere around this album. DevilDriver sounds like no one else out there right now, we’re here to strike and kill!”
Along with today’s announcement, they unleash the album’s fierce opening track to the masses. “Dig Your Own Grave” , which debuted yesterday on SXM’s Liquid Metal, is a caustic attack of machine-gun riffs and uncompromising aggression, that lyrically attacks the fools responsible for their own unwanted fate. Full of piss and vinegar, this is DevilDriver at maximum ferocity, giving listeners a taste of the untold slaughter awaiting on “Strike and Kill”.
Regarding the track, the band’s mastermind, Dez Fafara, states:
“‘ Dig Your Own Grave’ is about how one wrong decision, one wrong move can overturn your entire world, essentially “digging” your own grave… it’s that simple.”
« It can also refer to how your decisions can endanger someone else. That’s why there’s the line “one measure isn’t deep enough for you”, because only a deep, very deep hole is fitting for what you’ve done or tried to do to others. Be careful when you choose to make decisions at midnight.”

After DevilDriver‘s career-defining double album, “Dealing With Demons Vols. 1” and 2, which defined their career —with “Vol. 1” sitting at #1 on metal radio stations for a triumphant 15 weeks, and “Vol. 2” celebrated by internationally recognized media like Metal Injection, Kerrang! and Blabbermouth, which praised “you can’t stop the unstoppable” — the band embarks on a manic hunt with “Strike and Kill”, holding the sword at your throat and serving up that signature DevilDriver blend of melodeath elegance, blackened atmosphere, tectonic rhythms and Fafara’s iconic visceral delivery.
Without wasting time, the album erupts with the incendiary «Dig Your Own Grave» , a storm of kicks and crunchy riffs surround the listener, casting him into the waiting abyss, before moving to «Dead in the Water» , presenting the vivid melodeath tapestries of the virtuoso guitar duo Alex Lee and Gabe Mangold. “Sanctified In Scars” applies industrial pulsating rhythms and ethereal sonic textures, sanctifying Fafara’s venomous voice with blackened tremolo excellence. The album’s title track, «Strike and Kill», is a reconciliation of the difficulties and lessons we’ve learned, built on the foundations of explosively technical riffs and dizzyingly fast drumming by Davier Perez. Tracks like «In the Moonlight» and «Never Coming Home» wrap listeners in serene, blissful guitar melodies, elevating the barbarity with elegance and emotion. “Ride or Die” unleashes pure metallic inertia, pulling listeners in with relentless force. Showing their technical peak with tracks like “Headed for the Fall” and “You’re just a Ghost” , the band adopts incredibly strange patterns that turn listeners’ heads. “Summoning Shadows” offers the album its biggest respite from the slaughter, with acoustic guitar textures creating tension before the band returns with triumphant force. “Shut the Silence On” and “Oath of Iron” become exceptionally thrashy with their bold riffs and blast beats, before “All Bets are Off” brings things to a cataclysmic end.
