The melodic death metal band from New England, Fires In The Distance, continue their journey toward their third full-length album, “Circadian Promise”, which is scheduled for release on June 12 via Prosthetic Records, with the release of their latest single, ” To You, Author of My Fade ” .
After the release of the album’s main track, « Of Radiance and Levitation », the new single goes further into the album’s emotional and sonic extremes, revealing a more volatile and confrontational side of the band’s evolving sound. Where the previous previews leaned toward catharsis and melodic expanse, « To You, Author of My Fade » sharpens the edges—intensifying the interplay between atmosphere, aggression and introspection that defines «Circadian Promise».
As Fires In The Distance continue to refine their signature blend of melancholic melody, cinematic orchestration and progressive death metal dynamics, the band describes the new track as a pivotal moment in the album’s emotional flow:
« As the album unfolds, this song offers a new level of ferocity that we haven’t explored before. The song delves into the concepts of self-confrontation and recognizing our own limits. »
This sense of inner reckoning lies at the core of «Circadian Promise», the band’s follow-up to their acclaimed 2023 release, «Air Not Meant For Us» . Throughout the album, Fires In The Distance expand their sound, while at the same time deepening its emotional weight — balancing sweeping orchestral textures with jagged vocals, intricate guitar work and a renewed sense of urgency, brought in part by the expanded role of vocalist/guitarist Brendan Hayter.
