DragonForce have announced their tenth studio album and the first self-titled record of their career, which comes out on March 19, 2027 via Napalm Records.
It is the first time in the band’s nearly thirty years that an album takes their name, and the band presents it as the start of their next era. The production is signed by Jens Bogren and the recordings were done in the US, Britain, Canada and Sweden.
The lineup features new lead singer Alissa White-Gluz along with Alessio Garavello, while Herman Li, Sam Totman, Gee Anzalone and Alicia Vigil remain beside them, with new addition Billy Wilkins. The change in vocals was also the reason Marc Hudson left, with his spot going to the Arch Enemy singer.
The first taste is “Hunger Of The Beast”, which comes with a video from a live performance. The track was written around the capabilities of the two vocals and, as the band says, carries the youthful and unrestrained air of “Through the Fire and Flames”. DragonForce promise speed, energy and big, triumphant choruses, returning to elements from their early years: fast solos, uplifting choruses and that grandeur that made them famous.
