REVIEW:
Cult of the Sun builds on ideas that combine post‑metal atmospheres with doom riffing and progressive structures, while the use of a variety of vocals — from melodic parts to growls and blackened wails — gives the material character and moments of inspiration. There are tracks that stand out for their structures and dynamic shifts, with acoustic pauses and influences reminiscent of prog/post‑metal developments, while the composition shows a clear vision and technical ability.
Despite the positives, the album suffers from repetitiveness: many ideas appear in similar form and at a steady pace, so that the whole feels uniform and drags on longer than it needs to. The mix is clean but somewhat dry, which at times robs the riffs of their expected power. Overall, the album shows ability and vision, but loses some of its momentum due to monotony.
