Anthrax present their new single “Everybody’s Got A Plan”, accompanied by the official music video, offering one more taste from the highly anticipated album “Cursum Perficio”, which is released on September 18 via Megaforce (US) and Nuclear Blast (EU).
The new video
The video doesn’t follow the classic performance aesthetic; instead, it’s a fast, lively montage of moments of the band on stage and backstage, capturing the real life of Anthrax on the road. Much of the material comes from their appearance on July 7 in Lisbon, where they opened for Iron Maiden, fitting perfectly with the track’s relentless energy.
Charlie Benante comments: «‘Everybody’s Got A Plan’ was always one of my favorites on Cursum Perficio. The video fits the song’s “velocity” perfectly. The line ‘Everybody’s Got A Plan until they get punched in the face’ is amazing — and so true!»
The line, of course, references Mike Tyson‘s famous quote.
Scott Ian adds: «We just wanted to show us having a good time on tour. This was a plan that — thankfully — didn’t end with a punch in the face!»

The album Cursum Perficio
Anthrax’s new album is the 12th of their career and the first since For All Kings (2016), which had entered the Billboard 200 Top 10.
The title “Cursum Perficio” is Latin and was found engraved at Marilyn Monroe‘s house. Although it’s often translated as «My journey ends», the more accurate rendering is «I complete my course» or «I will persist».
Benante explains that the inspiration came from a discussion about where the “Big 4” stand today and whether this album could be the last. «We don’t need to say it’s the end», he says. Ian adds: «For me, the title also reflects the journey of this album.»
