Antony Hämäläinen came in on vocals, Anders Hammer on bass and Johan Nunez on drums. The European digipak edition had a demo take of “Failure of All Human Emotions”, while the Japanese one included a cover of Metallica’s “Holier Than Thou”.

The album is slower and heavier than the previous one, with acoustic passages between the violent tracks. “Shed the Blood”, “A Grim Struggle” and the title track keep the intensity up, and the instrumental “Sting of Remorse” closes the circle. Four tracks from the album were included as downloads in Rock Band.

Our take

This is where Nightrage found their sound. Nordström gave the band the warmth of the Swedish sound without cutting its power, and the album managed both to have the best songs and not to drag.
