Dropkick Murphys: The first headliners for 2027
Midalidare Rock In The Wine Valley 2027 announces its first headliners and the name is a big one: Dropkick Murphys will appear on Saturday, July 10, in one of the most anticipated concerts of next summer.
The Boston band has built a unique relationship with audiences worldwide, combining punk rock, folk and Celtic tradition in a way that became their trademark. With four consecutive albums in the Billboard Top 10 and a gold record, Dropkick Murphys have managed to stay consistently at the top.
The story behind “I’m Shipping Up To Boston”
The Warrior’s Code (2005) remains one of their most important albums. The song I’m Shipping Up To Boston went double platinum and gained worldwide fame through Martin Scorsese’s film The Departed, which won four Oscars.
Since then, Dropkick Murphys’ music has surpassed half a billion streams, while the band has sold over 8 million records and completed sold‑out tours on several continents.
The Claddagh Fund – The band’s charitable side
Dropkick Murphys have set up their own charitable foundation, The Claddagh Fund, which has raised millions of dollars for:
- child protection
- support for veterans
- help for people struggling with addiction
The band’s social activism is a key part of its identity.
The new album: “For The People”
For The People is Dropkick Murphys’ most recent work and arrives at a time when the band wants to speak openly about humanity, solidarity and unity. An album that works as a response to the division and dehumanisation of modern society.
