The Greek Epic/Heavy metallers Triumpher return in 2026 with their third album, “Piercing the Heart of the World”. After the excellent impression they left with their previous works (such as “Spirit Invictus” in 2024), the quintet reaches the peak of its compositional and performative prowess.

With Mars Triumph leading on vocals with incredible passion and Christopher Tsakiropoulos and Mario Ñ Peters on guitars, the act delivers 45 minutes of pure, steel-clad heavy metal. The rhythm section of Stelios Zoumis (bass) and Agis Tzoukopoulos (drums) gives the absolute battle pulse to a release that marries Manowar aesthetic with traditional heavy/speed, proving that the band is going through the best period of its career.

REVIEW : I have to say it plainly: “Piercing the Heart of the World” is the absolute peak of Triumpher’s journey so far. From the murderous opening one-two punch of “Black Blood” and “Destroyer”, you understand that the band has moved to the next stage of evolution. Mars Triumph delivers a passionate, almost animalistic performance that brings to mind the early days of Riot City, while the guitars of Tsakiropoulos and Peters sow havoc with gallops, tremolo picking and relentless leads. “The Mountain Throne” is a 7-minute epic that blends acoustic calm with blackened speed, while “Erinyes” towards the end of the album brings out an unexpected punky/thrashy energy that forces you to raise your fist in the air. Unlike their past, where perhaps some tracks lagged behind the absolute highlights, here there are no weak moments; every track has a reason to exist and serves the overall narrative excellently.

If I absolutely had to find something to grumble about, I might say that the vocals sometimes flirt dangerously with exaggeration, but Mars’ huge charisma saves the day and then some. Also, the quite “hot” and compressed (loud) mastering could bother me, but Zoumis’ massive bass and the merciless hammering on the drums don’t let you complain for long. These are small details that look like mere scratches in the face of the album’s overall grandeur. This is Triumpher’s greatest triumph to date, an album overflowing with steel and energy. Don’t miss it for anything!
