REVIEW : From the very first minutes, “Cracking the Moment” exudes tremendous determination. The chemistry between the powerful guitar riffs, the atmospheric orchestrations and the captivating female vocals moves to an entirely different level. Their sound is now exceptionally polished yet at the same time deeply honest. The production highlights the band’s multidimensional character: the heavy points “land” with heft and clarity, while the calmer, more melodic passages breathe, giving off a beautiful vulnerability and introspection.

But where I really take my hat off to Rising Alma is in how much they’ve evolved. If you compare them to the EP “Ongoing Hope” or even the excellent “Awake”, here we’re talking about a huge, confidence-filled step forward. The songwriting is much tighter, the orchestrations richer and the overall result sounds absolutely cohesive, subtly influenced also by the members’ multicultural identity. It’s a record that is dynamic without becoming overly aggressive, and melodic without ending up predictable or cheesy. They prove beyond doubt that they are building their own space in the modern rock/metal landscape. Definitely give it a listen!
