Back to the roots – but with new blood
“Flesh For The Kult Of Death” works as a new chapter but also a return to the core of Revel In Flesh’s sound. Inspired by the early releases Manifested Darkness and Death Kult Legions, the album is built on:
- chainsaw guitars
- morbid melodies
- a dark, threatening atmosphere
- old‑school Swedish death metal aesthetic
The band isn’t simply reproducing the past; it combines the raw aggression of the early years with more mature composition and experience, creating a record that honours their roots but moves their sound forward.
Themes
Lyrically, the album remains faithful to the hallmarks of Revel In Flesh: death, cults, decomposition, darkness. The band describes the new album as its strongest statement of devotion to traditional death metal — raw, dark, imposing and full of energy.
