MASTODON have released their new song “In The Ruins”, along with its animated video. The track will appear on the new album Marrow Deep, which arrives five years after Hushed And Grim.
The song revolves around loss, grief and how you try to get back on your feet after difficult situations. MASTODON have also drawn inspiration from the Three Fates of Greek mythology, with the concept of fate running through several parts of the record.
Marrow Deep is also MASTODON’s first album with guitarist Nick Johnston, after the death of Brent Hinds. Keyboardist João Nogueira also appears on the record.
The production was handled by MASTODON themselves together with Patrik Berger and Kurt Ballou, while the mixing was undertaken by Andrew Scheps.
